First Outtings

Yesterday was a good day and a bit of a rough day all in one. Not going to lie I cried several times, and not because I was sad or upset. There was a lot of stress building up to us coming here. The last few months in Georgia were a big push to make sure everything was getting done on time and correctly. When we got through customs on our first day I felt a huge sense of relief from knowing we were finally actually here! But at the same time we are very unused to not having a single bit of control of whats going on with us. We went from high stress to being pulled along with the current of whats happening here. So it was a bit overwhelming to say the least. So I used yesterday as a catch up day. To just relax my nerves and rebalance. We are so excited and happy to be here for real, and can't wait to see what comes next.
Anyways, once Austin was free for the evening we decided that it would be good to go out on our own and just make it work. So we did! We walked around for miles going around town and just checking out places. We found a pub that someone suggest we go to before we left Ga.
Norman got his first beer in Germany. Which happened to be an Irish beer... But we loved it. Apparently we haven't totally figured out what the dinner/anything hours are because we were the only ones at this place and literally got there maybe twenty minutes after it had opened. It was a cool place. A lot smaller than any American size bar for sure. We'll definitely go back though because they have game nights and even trivia, which of course Austin is excited for.
Before we got here I had looked at pretty much everything you can find online on what our German town was like. So while we were walking around we kept bumping into things that I recongised from pictures I'd seen. I thought that was pretty cool so I would stop and take pictures of stuff. I stopped to take a picture of this beautiful pink flower I found and kind of embarrassed Austin because he said people were staring at me from there balconies wondering what I was doing and why. Oh well, just a crazy American here, don't mind me!
There are so many fruit trees and plants all over its been so fun just seeing everything. We love how green it is here. The weather has been totally amazing! And with the recovery of my suit case I have all the right clothes for this weather, but from what we're hearing it should be snowing within the next like month or so.... So we'll see how that goes!

We knew we lived in wine country but what we didn't know is how many grapes are just all over the place. I mean seriously all over. Hanging off walls everywhere. We found these at a house we were interested in living in. Thank God we walked over there to go look at it.... I don't think I would of been enjoying the neighbors much..... It was across the street from a stipclub. Yeah.... Lovely. That one is now checked off the list!
Once we walked/ran away from that place. We started finding super cute neighborhoods full of really cute homes. Places we would enjoy. Something thats kind of weird, see all those trash cans? Thats totally normal. Everyone has like six garbage cans and they are all for different things. Obviously its about to be trash day because they were everywhere! Kind of gross but good to know at the same time.
This is definitely another picture I got stared at for taking because the people that lived in that house where outside.. But Aimee this is for you. I know its kind of hard to tell but that house is a light purple color. Super cute, and they had a little white German dog to go with it.

After are long walk around town we went back to our hotel. It has a restaurant in it that serves German food and we were excited to get our first tastes of it. That's jägerschnitzel. It was so good. If you look while I was taking pictures of mine Austin was already half way through his. He was starving. We had gone out to find food but got kind of lost, which just turned into exploring because I had a little map with us so it was easy to find our way back.
Thats the castle in our town. Its pretty awesome to walk out your door and be staring at a castle! That'll take me some time to get over, I love it. Getting out last night really helped us with connecting to this new place. It's hard to feel like this is your home and not like you're just on vacation. But I think once we get out of the hotel and into our own place, it'll become a lot homier. We love where we are right now and hope to find a place in this area because its perfect for walking to shops, and all the cool places.
We are so excited to be sharing this experience with all of y'all. Today I'm going out with a family friend and I'll snap more pictures, and tonight I'm sure Austin and I will find more cool things to bring back to y'all to see.

We love y'all,
Pumpkin and Pookie

P.S. Austin promises he'll get around to finally making his first post and giving his side of how things are here as soon as he has the time. He's extremely busy, but after the first two weeks things should calm down for him. Fingers crossed!
