So....We're here!

Made it! Austin seemed to do well with sleeping last night. Me, not so much! I was up pretty much all night. I think it was more that my mind wouldn't stop thinking about everything we have to do and about being stuck in a hotel for who knows how long.... Than anything else. Jet lag too but I for sure have a mind of its own. This had already started out to be quite the adventure...
Our flight went pretty well. I even got some pictures or us along the way
Somehow we really lucked out. Austin and I were assigned two seats that where just by them selves. I mean this was a huge airplane. Three seats on each side and a row of four down the middle. So instead of being sandwich in the middle of kid central or crowded. We for real got two seats by themselves and they were even right next to one of the bathrooms so we thought that we even more convenient.

It was a pretty long trip. Once we settled down on the plane though it was all good. We brought our own blankets to make a comfy spot with. We had three blankets between us then two from the plane... Believe it or not we actually packed "light"... People on this plane were trying to get there whole lives into eight or so suit cases. We only had four very large ones. Which one of those happened to be the first casualty of the trip.... The airline broke a wheel off coming into Baltimore. But we weren't even mad, just happy it showed up!
I was so excited to see this. This was my first view of Europe. It was so exciting, thats England! It was super clear when we were flying over. So clear that you could even see London as we flew over, which was even cooler than just spotting land.
So thats London from our space veiw. I was totally calm till seeing that, then it really started to sink in that we were actually doing this. Making a permanent move to a new country, and with very little skill for language between us! So thats going to be interesting... We'll be needing a good tutor.
I know this probably isn't the best picture but its an exciting one to us because this was our first view of Germany!! It was super cloudy coming in so we literally didn't see anything till our plane was almost touching the group. It for sure kept the surprise alive longer. It was really actually a beautiful day. Light rain, mid sixty's. An extremely positive change to what we were getting in Georgia right before we left.

These are our views for now. My parents actually used to talk to me about those wind towers so its kind of weird to be staring at them from my hotel window... But its beautiful here. Its very green, with lots of trees, really hilly. I had spent some time before we left the states actually watching people on youtube driving around in town here. So it was nice to already recognize some stuff as we drove in here.

I know our trip sounds really good. But it differently didn't go off without a few misses. From run our way through the whole Atlanta airport. To discovering at almost ten o'clock at night once back in our hotel that all my clothes were missing and we had someone else's suit case..... We couldn't be more happier to be here together and trying out a totally new style of life. This is a lot of change quickly. It's a lot, but I wouldn't want to be doing it with anyone else. We haven't had much time to be out in our town we'll be living in yet but we'll get there.
We will definitly be really busy the next few weeks with just setting stuff up but check back every day and see the new places we see. Just wait for more crazy stuff to happen to us and me tell y'all about it! We can't wait to find a house and do the whole figuring out how to buy a car thing here... We've got a lot of fun stuff coming up. So get ready y'all German is coming to yah!

                                                                           Lots of Love,
                                                                    Pumpkin and Pookie
